Personal profile

Research Interests

My research area is patient communication and relationships between health professionals and patients and their relatives. I am particularly interested in how patients and relatives get a voice in their treatment and experience person-centred communication. In my Ph.D.-project, I investigate how patients and relatives can collaborate with healthcare staff on person-centred communication and the barriers and opportunities for this collaboration.

My research is qualitative. I conduct action research and apply ethnographic methods and co-creative processes where patients and relatives are involved as participants. To ensure my research is relevant for healthcare users and contributes new knowledge about the experiences and perspectives of patients and relatives, I involve patient partners in all phases of research.
