Carsten Yndigegn holds a Ph.D. in Cultural Studies. He is an associate professor at the University of Southern Denmark, Department of Political Science and Public Management. E-mail: email@example.com.
His current research areas are:
- Border discourses and European identity
- Borders, mobility and social change
- Youth, historic legacy and civic engagement
In the past, he has completed research projects on social work on youth at risk, the organization of youth work in Danish municipalities, and he has for The Danish Ministry for Social Affairs written a widely used introduction to inter-disciplinary cooperation in social work on youth at risk. He has investigated young people’s expectations and attitudes to life conditions and life possibilities, and the choice of further education in the Danish–German border region. He has conducted research on borders, and national, regional and European identity. Recently, he was project manager for the Danish part of the large scale EU FP7 research project, MYPLACE, which researched young people’s societal and political participation and involvement.
