Postdoc with the project Feminized: A New Literary History of Women's Work. Interested in comics on Instagram, particularly as they relate to gender, work, precarity, and community.
My Ph.D. dissertation investigated girl protagonists in superhero comics, paying special attention to the identifications embodied by the girls in question and how these identifications are represented through the comics form and the conventions specific to the superhero genre. My research combines a structurally oriented comics studies approach with feminist critical theory.
