Birgitte Lilholt Sørensen has years of experience in teaching, curriculum development and coordination. She graduated as Environmental Engineer in 1992 and did her ph.d at Aalborg University in 1996. In December 1997 she was employed at Engineering College Odense to teach and do curriculum development in corporation with University of Southern Denmark. Birgittes area of specialization and teaching has mainly been water management and technology.

The Engineering College merged with University of Southern Denmark in 2006. Since then Birgitte has next been enrolled in LCA research projects. Those projects have so far been mainly related to waste water treatment and waste management.
