Research areas
I am an assistant professor in heat and fluid flow at SDU Mechanical Engineering. My work covers both experimental and computational heat and fluid flow research from low TRL (2) to high TRL (7) by using lab-, component-, and system-level domains and setups. My research portfolio touches on heat transfer engineering, engineering applications of fluid mechanics, and engineering thermodynamics as well as thermal system / technoeconomic optimization.
I received my PhD degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2019, on the topic of thermal management of small-scale LNG cold utilization systems. Till 2022, I worked in the same university as a research fellow. I performed both experimental, numerical, and computational studies on data center cooling, conformal cooling, droplets, battery thermal management, and green walls. Betwen 2022 and 2024, I worked at Technical University of Denmark as a postdoc researcher. My research focused on multiphase mixture modelling of two-phase R-744 ejectors in R744 heat pumps and refrigeration systems. From 2024 till the start of my new role, I worked on the theory of droplet train impingement as an independent researcher in the N*therlands.
Before my PhD study, I worked as an R&D engineer in Turkish industry, focusing on the radiant heating & cooling panels, heat pumps, thermal comfort phenomena, and geothermal pipe optimization.
