Research Interests

Research Interests
My research focuses on child-centered methodologies in health research, specifically developing ways to gather, understand and apply children’s perspectives. I am interested in the interplay between culture and health, particularly the health-promoting potentials of singing and musical communities.

Additional areas of interest include mental health, health inequities, and mixed methods research.

Current Research
My current work explores mental health in school children. My PhD is part of a three-year feasibility study investigating a mental health-promoting intervention using school choirs to enhance the mental well-being of children aged 5–10. The intervention employs a mixed methods approach, integrating approaches from anthropology, public health, and music therapy.

A central aspect of my work involves creating and testing child-friendly questionnaires to capture young children’s views on their mental health og school well-being.

Findings from this research will contribute to the development of ethical and methodological standards for child-centered research and inform future mental health interventions in school settings.
