My PhD-project, which I began working on spring 2022, is tentatively called "Hormonal (im)balances: Imagining the birth control pill in 21st century Denmark - and beyond". It explores the ways in which the birth control pill is imagined in contemporary Denmark and entangled with the Danish welfare state, asking which logics, affects, ideas about gender, race, intoxication/detoxication, the natural/artificial, and pasts and futures of reproduction are circulated with(in) these imaginaries. The project is part of the larger research project "Endocrine Economies: The Cultural Politics of Sex Hormones", led by Charlotte Kroløkke and Karen Hvidtfeldt.
