Overview

About

The Department of Public Health maintain a strong focus on illness and its prevention and at the same time we concentrate on the wider societal perspectives. We publish and communicate results contribute to new strategies for health services. Within health promotion we focus on the resources and opportunities strengthening human wellbeing since absence of illness is not our definition of health.

The Danish Twin Registry, amongst others, is often used in various analyses. Furthermore, we conduct research on pharmaceuticals and on the effects and mechanisms of action of other foreign substances; we analyze the use of resources in the Danish health care system along with the quality of the services offered. Finally, we conduct research on the interphase between citizen, patient and the health care system with an overall vision of improving human health.

Research at The Department of Public Health spans from experimental in vitro studies on cell lines to socio-economics, and we strive to cross existing boundaries to create coherence in treatment and prevention.
