Main subject will be within manufacturing, factory design and improvement programs. Aligning strategy throughout the organization is increasingly important. Therefore, the perspective in the course is to create an understanding of what drives the strategy of the business unit and how it trickles down to the manufacturing strategy. Furthermore, the manufacturing strategy is analyzed through a structured framework, with focus on productions systems, order winners/market qualifiers, manufacturing output and manufacturing levers and their capability level. Additionally, the planning hierarchy is worked through an applied approach. To round up the different tools and strategic levels, S&OP (sales and operation planning) is worked out through a simulation game in order to optimize and coordinate the information between the different departments in the organization.
