Developing a Specialized Diesel Dosing Unit for Accurate Exhaust System Testing

Supervision

Description

This project involves designing and developing a Diesel Dosing Unit (DDU) for use in test centers evaluating exhaust systems on engine dynamometers. The DDU will enable precise and controlled diesel injection into the exhaust stream, simulating real-world conditions to study catalytic substrate regeneration processes. The project integrates mechanical and electronic design, focusing on creating a robust embedded control system capable of managing multiple nozzles for accurate dosing. Key objectives include achieving dosing rates between 50 g/h and 5000 g/h, validating system performance, and ensuring seamless integration with test environments. The system will be optimized for durability, scalability, and precise control to enhance the reliability of exhaust system testing.
