Design for Sustainability is a 3 ECTS course taught at the Bachelor of Product Development and Innovation and the Bachelor of Engineering—Integrated Design.This course focuses on green engineering principles and sustainability. Through a product case, students learn to conduct a simple environmental assessment using a MEKA scheme. The course also introduces circular economy and the importance of material selection. Through product cases, students work with the environmental aspects of products and identify innovation opportunities. Students gain insight into current and upcoming legislation in environmental assessments. The aim is to equip engineers to promote responsible consumption and production throughout the product's lifecycle.
