Control of Power-Electronic Converters in Wind Turbines for Harmonic Compensation and Grid Support

Erasmus Exchange MSc Project from KU Leuven, Belgium
Student: Vincent Bintein

The aim of the thesis is to eliminate the voltage/current harmonics and support the grid (e.g. reactive power compensation) by the wind turbines. By having a good control strategy for the power converters in wind turbines, remaining capacity of these converters after supplying the generated energy to the grid can be used to reach these targets.
