Description
Advanced and Smart Materials and Structures will study a special group of materials with unique properties. It begins with a brief introduction to solid mechanics, linear-elastic, nonlinear-elastic, viscoelastic, and elastoplastic constitutive models. Then, this course continues by introducing advanced and smart materials and analyzing such materials under changing environmental parameters such as temperature, electric field, and mechanical loads. Furthermore, some simple applications of these materials to create smart structures are studied.
