Thea Kølsen Fischer, former head of virus-surveillance in Denmark, will zoom in on virus and the persistent pandemic threat posed by the small pathogen with the major destructive potential. She will talk about the major virus threaths of our time and include perspectives from hands-on management of virus epidemics in the field. This crosssectional research platform includes elements from basic virology, clinical virology, epidemiology, bioinformatics and public health. In this intersection, essential knowledge is genereated based on historical and actual data to be translationally applied in future pandemic preparedness and protection of populations.
