Activity: Attending an event › Conference organisation or participation
Last year’s event was productive, fun, and offered participants a chance both to work on their own research and also to hear from and talk to key senior researchers and staff in the Department. I don’t see this as something that replaces what happens in your research groups, but I do believe that it gives you an important complementary context to experience.
The environment at Fuglsangcentret in Fredericia is spacious, modern, and quiet. Everything is catered for, and I would encourage you to see these few days as not just a wonderful learning and networking opportunity, but an indulgent and fun investment in your research careers.
Organisers Ian Woodward and Richard Mee have confirmed a great lineup of speakers you need to hear from – Research Dean Sten Rynning on strategies for navigating the DK and EU research environments, BSS PhD School Director Kristin Munksgaard on early career transitions; our own Mette Præst Knudsen will talk about consolidating a research career and Sisse Marie Teglgaard Buur will give an overview of the research funding landscape in DK and best practice in applications. On top of this, there will be free and open sessions where you have time and space to work on any of your current research tasks.
I hope you will be able to attend. I see it as an important event in IMM’s calendar, and something which confirms our commitment to help you achieve your research goals.
