Description
The demand for employees who are capable of working in an international environment has been growing, not only in multinational enterprises (MNEs) but also in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who are entering into global markets. International business traveling (IBT) emerged as an alternative to counter various issues associated with the ‘traditional’ expatriate assignment. Little is known about how SMEs make use of these more flexible work arrangements, which enables them to take care of international business and join the global competition. The present study explores the management of IBT in SMEs in Denmark – in particular in the Odense Robotics cluster, which collects 129 small and medium sized firms.
