Abstrakt

This headline appeared in the Danish Newspaper Berlingske in the early summer 2013 (Arnfred & Munksgaard, 2013). According to politicians from the three parties in the current centre-left government, Denmark’s image abroad as an open-minded, cosy, and progressive nation suffered from the blunt rhetoric of the Danish People’s Party, as well as from restrictions on immigration to Denmark put in place by the former bourgeois government with the support of the Danish People’s Party. This has allegedly caused the decline in international tourism to Denmark.
