A Social Capital based Research Design to Investigate the German Mechanical Engineering Industry

Resumé

This work in progress article focusses the development of a framework explaining the emergence of entrepreneurial milieu from a social capital perspective within a multiple domain setting. Beside embedded scarcities and relationships, specific supporting key actors and embedding processes will be identified. Finally, this paper discusses a research design for an investigation of the German mechanical engineering industry. To deduce concepts describing key actors, key resources and embedding processes dyadic relationships within the industry are viewed as point of departure in the process of mapping the entrepreneurial milieu.
