This paper explores how entrepreneurs can create opportunities for business in rural island settings. Three cases of food entrepreneurship are examined and it is suggested that opportunities can be created by leveraging the unique localized resources available in rural island settings in persuasive and authentic stories told through and about the products. Similarities and differences between conventional and rural island entrepreneurship are explored.
