Abstract

A 55-year-old woman was hospitalised due to sudden redness and swelling around the left eye as well as malaise. Prior to hospitalisation, the patient was treated with antibiotics because of a dental infection. The patient was admitted to the hospital for more than three weeks and received intravenous antibiotics, which was changed several times due to treatment failure. After three weeks, she had a rooted tooth removed and she was discharged within days. Preseptal cellulitis as a complication to odontogenic infection can develop into a critical and life-threatening condition.
