Resumé

The PhD project titled, “Smart Factory: Flexible Lean Automation” is aimed
to research and develop novel automation solutions to support high-mix
low-volume production in a variant oriented production environment. This
envisions a Smart Factory, as a manufacturing solution, that provides such
flexible and adaptive production processes to solve problems arising on a
production facility with dynamic and rapidly changing boundary conditions in a world of increasing complexity.
