Abstract
This paper qualitatively explores innovation barriers related to the different phases of the innovation process. Case studies have been conducted in 24 BtB companies with manufacturing facilities in Denmark. The findings illuminate which are the main barriers experienced in the innovation process, in which phases they occur and their frequency of occurrence. An important theoretical contribution is developed, when we disentangle the types of barriers at four levels and identify their effect on the innovation process.
