Abstract

In interrogations of scale and in questioning how things hang together, we have to maintain the insight that things, people and spaces can hang together in many ways. Multiple orders are at play in the world. Thinking and writing in topological ways – exploring approaches for laying out spaces and how to move with and across them – is helpful when we want to make sense of multiplicity and to find ways to move within and across manifold orders and the complex interconnections between them. Taking inspiration from topologically inspired spatialities and a recasting of the relationship between world, knowledge and performance, this conference paper explores fluid and dynamic models of knowing in and with a complex world. These models are related to education and design.
