Abstract

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare has revolutionized diagnostictechniques in recent years, leading to more accurate, efficient, and timely patientcare. This chapter investigates the efficacy of AI-driven systems for diagnostics andhuman–machine interfaces. It provides an overview of the pipeline for automateddecision-making systems and introduces the role of existing AI models used forautomated diagnosis and the development of the human–machine interface. In thefollowing section, we discuss potential challenges of the current systems, which limittheir real-time implementation in clinical settings. These challenges include concernsabout data privacy; decision fairness; the requirement for huge, annotated data sets;and the potential for algorithmic bias.
