Resumé

A series of 15 progressive damage tests were performed on a prestressed concrete highway bridge in Switzerland. The ambient response of the bridge was recorded for each damage case with a relatively large number of sensors. Changes in frequencies, damping ratios and MAC values were determined. An important observation is that frequencies and mode shapes of the structure changed significantly during the damage cases.
