Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to illustrate the influence of passion and compassion on growth in turnover within networks of entrepreneurial companies. A research in three food networks containing 60 companies of SME size elaborate on this purpose. Through a quantitative study of the participating businesses in the network an analysis on how passion and compassion relate to growth is completed. The statistical analysis on the data shows no direct significant influence, but there is a strong indirect influence revealed through Weick's (1995) concept of organizing. This elaborates the ‘organizing' process and also shows the tension present to influence growth.
