Abstrakt
The Delirium is actually one of the most important clinical syndromes in hospital. Although elderly and multimorbid patients are more vulnerable, everybody has a risk of developing a delirium in context of a disease or traumas. That means, that physicians of all disciplines taking care of hospitalized or emercency patients have to know how to prevent, detect and treat a delirium. In addition to this, pharmaceutical knowledge is needed. One the one hand it is necessary to evaluate the prescribing of the patient to identify delirogenic medication and the determination oft he anticholinergic burden. On the other hand pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic strategies have to be implemented.
