Abstract
This paper uses a multi-objective optimization algorithm to compare different DC-DC converter topologies in a 6kV − 500V electrolyzer interface in a Power-to-X (P2X) framework. The algorithm models the volumes and losses of different candidate DC-DC converters and sets constraints to construct a geometric programming problem. Optimal solutions for each converter are generated by sweeping the relative weight of loss to volume to construct a Pareto front, which are then compared. Results indicate that a modular design using Dual Active Bridge converters offers a significantly smaller and more efficient solution compared to the full-bridge and half-bridge converters.
