Code reuse = sustainable platforms? Recommendations for digital scholarly editions based on recent Danish experiences and current European perspectives

Publikation: Kapitel i bog/rapport/konference-proceeding › Konferencebidrag i proceedings › Forskning › peer review

Abstract

In current digital scholarly editing, questions of recirculation and reuse apply not only to the textual objects under study but also to the code used to markup texts and the source code behind published web applications. The present article examines whether reusing source code can make digital scholarly editions (DSEs) more sustainable. Can long-term access be extended from the marked-up files and facsimiles to include the presentation layer that makes a digital edition into a coherent whole
