Abstract

This study proposes a framework for End-of-Life (EoL) management of large complex structures to support the circular economy (CE). The study aim is achieved through a structured literature review and a case study of 14 EoL wind turbine blades in Finland. A framework for decommissioning of large structures at their EoL consisting of four project steps with subsequent managerial and operational activities is developed and discussed in comparison to the case study. This study contributes to the existing literature in the field of operations management for CE in the decommissioning of large structures.
