Abstract

Chemically derived graphene is a promising platform for applications in biosensing interfaces. The present chapter focuses primarily on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensing, which is already a well-established analytical tool in biochemical and pharmaceutical research. Different SPR biosensing assays based on graphene and graphene oxide immobilisation matrices are reviewed, with a special emphasis on the deposition of linking layers, their functionalisation, and advantages compared to the existing SPR interfaces
