    Abstract

Social Design Research is a design and research approach that is characterised by an attempt to make a difference for marginalized, underprivileged or vulnerable groups in society through participatory processes and the use of knowledge artifacts. This article demonstrates how knowledge is generated co-productively and shows the interplay between different types of tacit or explicit forms of knowledge and models the knowledge exchange between design researchers, practitioners and the participating citizens.
