Abstract

This edited volume is under contract with Routledge.
The focal point of this edited collection (research anthology) is novel perspectives on pedagogical, educational and professional trajectories based on case-based and practice-oriented learning – conceptualized as action scenarios. Action scenarios is described and discussed within the field of intercultural pedagogy in a unique collaboration between researchers practitioners, who have obtained a bachelor’s or master’s degree in intercultural pedagogy and cultural studies. The chapters are written based on new cutting-edge research in intercultural education, pedagogy, socialization theories and research on ethnic minorities and cultures. This edited collection of research illuminates new ontological and epistemological perspectives on the phenomenon action scenarios, and the chapters elucidates the complex political and institutional frameworks surrounding ethnic minorities and professionals who work for and with them. Hence, the chapters of the book disclose various research perspectives on potentials in working with actions-oriented scenarios in teaching in higher education and analyzes empirical studies of intercultural issues. The chapters of this edited collection are written by twenty-four authors, in a unique collaboration between researchers, educators and practitioners. This book will be of interest to researchers, policymakers, educators and students in the areas of intercultural pedagogy and communication in education and welfare work.
