Beskrivelse

The principal aim of the AutoNorms Project is to examine how the use of weapon systems with automated and autonomous features shapes international norms governing the use of force. The AutoNorms Project focuses on the practices of Artificial Intelligence (AI) development and usage in four states: China, Japan, Russia, and the United States. These countries are global leaders in the fields of AI and its associated technologies, such as robotics. The project team consists of Dr. Ingvild Bode (PI), four researchers, and four collaborators. Within the AutoNorms project, I focus on the case of Russia. I observe and analyse how Russia's AI-related practices manifest and transform within four contexts: military, transnational political, dual-use and popular imagination.
