The price of success: what is the impact of improving patients’ survival after a hospital admission on subsequent use and cost of care?

This project is financed by the EU. It is a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship given to Mauro Laudicella.

The main objective of this project will be to investigate the impact of primary care, integrated care and patients' socioeconomic characteristics on long-term utilisation of care after an acute admission. We will decompose the heterogeneity of the hospital survival effect identified in the previous studies and examine its interactions with utilisation of primary care services, level of integration of care services, and patient socioeconomic characteristics.
