Description
Background
Child protection workers are at increased risk of secondary traumatization due to indirect exposure to adversity as part of their core job-task. Secondary traumatization is recognized as a form of PTSD in DSM-5. However, research is lacking that examines the relationship between symptoms of secondary traumatization and ICD-11 PTSD. Additionally, existing models of secondary traumatization are focused on individual factors without incorporating organizational conditions.

Purpose
- To investigate the association between symptoms of secondary traumatization and ICD-11 PTSD
- To investigate the relationship between organizational factors and the risk and severity of secondary traumatization

Design
A cross-sectional survey studying the occurrence of secondary traumatization, PTSD and burnout and risk- and protective factors for the development of these clinical disorders.
