Beskrivelse
People with back pain who have low levels of pain self-efficacy and are afraid of movement are more disabled from back pain, than those with higher beliefs in their self-management skills and less worries about being harmed. GLA:D Back is a programme of patient education and exercises meant to support self-management. Using individual interviews, this project explores the role and development of self-efficacy in back pain by investigating patients’ beliefs about back pain and their perspectives on their ability to self-management. Further, it investigates in what sense GLA:D Back participations may have affected participants ability to manage long-lasting back pain. The study is conducted in collaboration between clinical back pain researchers and researchers working with phenomenology.
