Beskrivelse

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) play a significant role in Nordic economic development through creating employment, stimulating competition and developing new technologies and products. As such several researchers have looked into the cross-national overview of the main environmental incentives available for SMEs in the Nordic countries.
(Clement & Hansen, 2002). Likewise, Nordic researchers (Moen & Servais, 2002) have looked into especially innovative, international firms are prevalent and important because they represent a new generation of firms. Several studies have been conducted in the Nordic countries on how, where, and why these firms emerges and growths, however this research has only focused on firms that are international active right from their local inception. More recently studies in Germany,
the UK and USA has been published on the phenomenon of transnational entrepreneurs’ i.e. entrepreneurs who immigrates to another country to start-up an economic activity. In the Nordic area very little research has been conducted on Nordic inhabitants who immigrate to another Nordic country in order to exploit an opportunity by setting up a business organization. The workshop will deal with the inclusion of Nordic entrepreneurs who’s ethnic origin might be non-nordic, but who moves to another Nordic country to become an entrepreneur. The workshop has a strong research focus and focus on a novel research area of transnational Nordic entrepreneurs.
