Do you want to have an intelligent robotic system, which can tell you how much your muscles have become stronger after a period of hard exercises? and can act as a physiotherapist to help you manage your shoulder pain? MyoManager is a new multifunctional health management solution for these needs. MyoManager consists of two Mobile Manipulators (MM) equipped with cameras and a VR headset worn by a user (see the figure below). The key question in this project is: can we personalize a musculoskeletal model and a sensorimotor control model for an individual through strategic physical interactions by the MyoManager with few sensors on the human body? These individualized models can enable diagnosis, consultation and intervention about the muscle health in a self-service style. In short, we are expected to have deeper understanding about our muscle functional status after physically interacting with the MyoManager as easy as knowing our weight after standing on a weighing scale. This new revolutionary technology will not only benefit patients with muscle diseases, but also provide an effective muscle health management tool for everyone, which is crucial in an aging society.
