Beskrivelse

Project goal
Our goal is to build a global data pool of religious and spiritual values of health professionals.

Background and motivation
To date collaboration within the recently established Network for Research on Spirituality and Health (NERSH.org) has made it possible to pool data from 14 different surveys from six continents. Approx. 6000 respondents from around the world have completed the NERSH questionnaire developed from the original questionnaire “Religion and Spirituality in Medicine, Perspectives of Physicians” (RSMPP) by Farr Curlin, 2006.
The NERSH Data Pool supports five validated scales of religious dimensions:
- Duke Religiosity Index (DUREL), Koenig et al
- Religiosity of Health Professionals
- Willingness to interact with patients regarding R/S issues
- RS as a calling
- Religious objections to controversial issues in medicine (ethical dilemmas)

Nøgleresultater

We are currently building the version 2.0 of the data pool which will encompass 17 data contributions from collaborators around the world.
