Interdiscplinary research project
Specific aims of the field trip:
• Explore possibilities for conducting interdisciplinary research projects focusing on solving local-to-global problems and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (in line with SDU’s strategy).
• Establish international collaborations between DIAS/SDU and UNDP Bissau, as well as governmental and non-governmental organisations in Guinea-Bissau.
• Acquire a deeper understanding of the African context and needs, for more locally nested and locally empowering research projects, including local capacity building for data support.
• Learn from Guinea-Bissau as an active lab for future climate development and impacts in our part of the world.
• Build new collaborations for downstream future funding possibilities and for scientific development.
• Prepare to establish a new DIAS cluster with the tentative title “From Human to Planetary Health”.
Exploration of economic health, sustainability elements and entrepreneurship, e.g. related to sanitation and mobility.
