Entrepreneurs’ Startup Process: A Panel Study of Entrepreneurial Dynamics

Projekter: ProjektForskning

This project investigates why certain nascent entrepreneurs abandon the firm
emergence process while others succeed and end up starting their business. While we know quite a bit about what happens after a business is started our knowledge is still immature when it comes to explain how business come into existence. In this project, in close collaboration with researchers from ECIC at University of Adelaide the PI, Kim Klyver, investigates firm emergence with a special emphasis on the dynamic aspects. This is done with use of a unique longitudinal dataset (DaPSED) of a representative sample of nascent entrepreneurs in the process of starting a business that have been systematically been followed over four years in five survey waves. Specifically, the project investigates a two-stage startup decision process of hybrid entrepreneurship and social network dynamics in various forms.
