Data-driven energy monitoring and optimization of industrial processes

Projekter: ProjektIndustri

Projektdetaljer

Beskrivelse

In Denmark, the manufacturing and process industry accounts for up to 21% of total national energy consumption, and was the second-largest national source (20.8%) for CO2 emissions in 2019. The Danish climate targets of 70% emission reductions in 2030 and climate neutrality in 2050, will require the Danish manufacturing and process industry to significantly reduce CO2 emissions in 2030 and aim for energy-efficient and climate-neutral production in 2050.

In order for the manufacturing and process industries to successfully reduce their CO2 emissions, they urgently need software tools that can give them practical insight into energy consumption in their daily operations and help them plan production so that as much CO2-neutral as possible 'green' power is used.

The project aims to facilitate the manufacturing and process industries to reduce CO2 emissions by digitizing the companies' whole value chains. Digitization of the whole value chains provide companies necessary data basis to make evidence-based decisions in production planning that will reduce the company's CO2 emissions.

To reach the goal, three main project objectives are: 1) IoT/Edge computing infrastructure installation and configuration; 2) Energy Cloud platform for AI-based analytics services; 3) benchmarking based best-practice recommendations for energy-efficient operation of production processes.
