Beskrivelse
The project will make explicit why and how it is necessary to include more sophisticated understandings of borders, when implementing green transitions. Taking as its foundation the PI’s border multiple approach to borders, the project provides a theoretical framework making it possible to assess both societal and spatial dimensions of borders and their effects on green transitions. The project’s empirical core is an ethnographic study of stakeholder engagement in green transitions in the cross-border context of Sønderborg and Flensburg municipalities. The project thereby identifies and assesses the role and function of border-practices when key stakeholders work towards the implementation of green transitions, aiming to map the complexities of border practices in green transitions. The project will thereby provide a post-Westphalian mapping of borders adequate to achieve green transitions.
