The aim of the research project is to foster the operationalization of Urban Resilience, through assessing and strengthening capacity building for actions; enhancing impact and sustainability of resilience and climate interventions, as well as assess and strengthening tools and methods that support actions of/for the resilience transition of urban coastal areas in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The general objective of the research project is to improve capacity building of local governments by investigating current programmes for capacity building, primarily City Resilience Action Planning Tool (CityRAP) and assessing its impact, potential for replication and upscaling for operationalising of urban resilience transition in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The result of the PhD research will be an advanced framework to building new capacities for planning, management and developing cities in a high complexity and uncertainty context.
