Calling it "an ambitious ethnography with important theoretical and practical implications", the editors of Research in Consumer Behavior, Volume 16: Consumer Culture Theory, have nominated "Mapping the Real and the False: Globalization and the Brand in Contemporary China" as the outstanding contribution from their volume. It will compete with the "bests" of other volumes in Emerald's 2014 lineup for the Outstanding Author Contribution Award.
