Forskningsområder

Zenia Henriksen started in the Quranatura project as a postdoctoral researcher on 1 May 2025. Within the project, she is responsible for Subproject 4, which examines how Islamic perspectives on nature are communicated and practiced, with particular attention to the Qur’anic Botanic Garden in Qatar, and includes methodological work on conducting fieldwork across differing political and social contexts. Her previous research focuses on political movements, human rights, identity, and migration in the SWANA region and its diasporas, with an emphasis on how media discourses and lived experiences shape collective action and belonging. She holds a PhD from the University of Copenhagen, and her forthcoming book, Mediatization of a Revolution: (De)Mobilization Among Diasporic Syrian Dissidents in Europe, will be published soon.
