I am a postdoctoral researcher in Gareth Millward's project "Complaining as a window onto citizens’ expectations of the welfare state in Britain and Denmark, 1960s–2020s." Before coming to SDU, I completed my PhD in Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania.

My dissertation examined how, why, and when the Swedish social democrats transformed from gravediggers to managers of capitalism. I am currently revising the dissertation into a book. I am also working on several papers related to the history of social democracy. More broadly, I am interested in history and political economy, especially the relationship between democracy and capitalism.

I am currently beginning to look into the more recent history of the Danish welfare state. As part of the project on complaining in the welfare state, this work will pay attention to how complaints express different views on welfare deservingness.
