Forskningsområder

Mette Munk Lauridsen has been a practicing medical doctor since 2005, and she earned her PhD in 2016, focusing on brain dysfunction associated with liver disease. She is a certified research leader and project manager, having completed qualifications at both Copenhagen Business School (CBS) and the University of Southern Denmark (SDU). In 2024, she further honed her leadership skills by completing the prestigious Higher Ground Leadership Program at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Virginia. In 2017, Dr. Lauridsen founded the Liver Research Group Esbjerg, which is dedicated to conducting patient-centered clinical and translational research in metabolic and alcohol-related liver diseases. This research group comprises scientists across various career stages and is renowned for its interdisciplinary and collaborative approach. The group has also established a robust infrastructure to support large, biobank-driven human clinical and translational studies. Dr. Lauridsen’s primary research interests include exploring the impact of liver disease on cognitive function and quality of life, as well as translational research on metabolically associated steatotic liver disease and palliative care in cirrhosis.
