Forskningsområder

In my research, I investigate singing as a potential means to provide clinically relevant, health-promoting benefits on both physiological and psychosocial parameters for people with respiratory diseases. I specialise in multidisciplinary clinical research with main focus on quantitatively-based, rigorously-driven research.

During my PhD, I investigated the effects of singing as a training modality in a large-scale RCT (n=270) within 10 weeks' pulmonary rehabilitation for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with use of the best-practice methodological approach, "Singing for Lung Health". Main results were published in the European Respiratory Journal (Impact Factor 24.3) and the overall trial was awarded 1st prize in the celebration of "Best clinical trials of the year 2023".

Subsequently, I have expanded my research focus to further clinical research in lung diseases, specifically focusing on the efficacy and underpinning mechanisms, which also includes the establishing of a dual-centre physiological lab facility for the preparation of further clinical studies.

Moreover, I am engaged in several systematic, critically-focused, theoretical studies, based on national and international collaborations.
